Soon A Party Train on the Los Angeles-Las Vegas Route

Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. and Union Pacific Railroad have just signed a conditional agreement to provide passenger service on the Union Pacific-owned right-of-way between Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daggett, California.

Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. is a publicly traded company that is currently in the process of designing and implementing an expedited, luxury train service from the Los Angeles basin to Las Vegas. Known as the ‘X Train’, the service will utilize conventional rail rights of way and passenger rail equipment specially outfitted in a First Class configuration to deliver what it claims to be a new, exciting and cost efficient way to travel to Las Vegas.

The agreement  with Union Pacific Railroad is contingent upon Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. fulfilling a variety of conditions in a specified time frame. The Las Vegas-based company plans to operate an expedited luxury train service between the Los Angeles basin and Las Vegas through the use of Union Pacific track. The "X Train" service is scheduled to start by late 2013. Service departures are planned to be Thursday and Friday to Las Vegas with returns on Sunday and Monday back to Los Angeles. An introductory price of $99 each way includes First Class accommodations and all-inclusive food & beverage. In addition, the “X Train” will also offer the its passengers options to book hotel rooms, transportation transfers, entertainment & show tickets and other travel incidentals.

About the agreement with Union Pacific Railroad, Michael Barron, President and CEO of Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc., said, "We are proud that Union Pacific is working with us on this exciting and historic project. This moment will be long remembered as an important milestone in providing a great experience for X Train customers."
